Whilst working at night and utilising an image based processing platform and high speed reader sorters, the Department is responsible for processing cheques taken in over Abbey\'s branch counters in England and Wales. In addition, cheque volumes from Bradford & Bingley branches also form part of the night\'s volume.

Main Purpose

  • To support the Department in order to achieve planned business targets, objectives and key time specific Departmental deadlines.
  • To be able to run high-speed reader sorter ensuring all processing anomalies are handled correctly as to not impact the Department onward processes.
  • To undertake all tasks to the required speed/throughput rates and actively work to surpass those rates on a regular basis.
  • To be self-motivating and ready to accept new technology ensuring all standards are maintained.
  • To understand all quality/service level importance and actively contribute idea/solutions to improve the process.
  • To be open and honest with all colleges and use communication in various forms to facilitate a motivated team oriented workforce.

Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a pressurised environment.
  • Previous experience of functioning within a close knit team.
  • A good working knowledge of cheque banking working practices.
  • Result focused and a willingness to learn new duties extremely quickly.
  • Previous permanent night working experience would be advantages but not a necessity.

Hours of Work
5 nights of 7 hours (Full time equivalent) commencing at 22:00 to 06:00 operating a work until finish policy.
